The harbor is developed into a new, modern
and polyvalent port, aiming to handle
350.000 tons/year. Its surfaces 32.000 mē.
The port focuses on handling shipments for
the ferrous, metallurgical and forestry
industry, specifically the oversized and
overweight cargo. Sailing towards the ports
of Galati, Constanta (800 km) or Salina, or
coming back towards Western European
harbors (Antwerp: 2600 km), barges can
count on a number of services the harbor is
offering: warehousing, handling, cleaning,
maintenance, welding and small repairs.
Other facilities the harbor can offer are
custom commissioners, electric force
equipment, duty-free shops and a harbor
captain office.
The harbor is accessible all year long, with
a minimum shore depth of 2,5 m. Due to its
position on the lake of Iron Gate
Hydropower station, harbor guarantees a
smooth access for barges up to 1.500 all
year long. At the 300 m long vertical and
angle quay, a 20 tons at 32 m. crane and a
10 ton forklift assure fast and accurate
discharging of the barges on a 25.000 mē
platform. Also with partners we can
discharge over load parts [ like metallurgical
or wind mills components].
